A low to moderate malt aroma, and low hoppy
mixture. A clear, copper-colored, medium strong
and full of flavor, low off-white to tan colored
head. A bit sweet, with a lightly hopped buttered
toast or toffee-like flavor, Irish Red Ales
are easy to please. Clean and smooth; look for
well-rounded and balanced flavors, and a pleasant
toasted malt character in many examples. An
easy drinking pint with a medium light body,
a dry finish is common.
